介于本书的读者大部分都读过其他同人作品，所以对许多官设产生了误解（比如超过10名读者认为德拉科是斯内普的教子），另一个可能会被误解就是阿斯托利亚的年级，作者在至少3本以上的同人中看到阿斯托利亚被设定在金妮的年级（比哈利低一年），其中还包括了神作《学霸传奇》。
为了防止被同人作品误导的读者，导致可怜的作者被喷，这里事先澄清关于阿斯托利亚的官方设定。
根据罗琳的官方播客pottercast（编号131，日期2008年1月2日），罗琳在采访中说，阿斯托利亚是达芙妮的妹妹，她在校的年级比德拉科低上2个年级。
