表面在特殊涂层技术下呈现了犹如水银流动一般的质感。周长三百米的正方体结构基座同样使用钢铁镀铬铸造而成，基座朝星球磁力线正极的一面铭写着：“此粗糙拙劣的仿制品仅表达对原作最崇高的敬意。”。
铭文的右边一侧被镂空为一个50*50*50米的空间，里面为一位二十一世纪中叶，名字缩写为s.h.的女性亚洲钢琴教育家的全息投影。她正使用一台序列号为56929的九十七键黑色贝森朵夫290（b?sendorferconcertgrand290imperial）三角钢琴，在家中一楼音乐厅弹奏谢尔盖·瓦西里耶维奇·拉赫玛尼诺夫（sergeivassilievitchrachmaninoff）作品《升c小调前奏曲》的全息录影。
雕像底部的铭文左边一侧只有一个单词，用以纪念创造这个雕像形象的创造者。这个创造者就是古代地球上美利坚合众国科幻小说作家丹·西蒙斯（dansimmons）的母语，书写的“shrike”。在雕像底座面向星球磁力线负极的那一侧上，雕刻着18世纪英国诗人约翰·济慈（johnkeats）的诗篇“海伯利安（hyperion）”，援引第一卷第一部分原文如下：
